Where to begin?
My first attempt in years to organize a league ended in a disappointing, but understandable failure.
Due to personal circumstances multiple coaches had to drop. And these weren’t just “I’m tired”, or “I just don’t want to”. Multiple coaches had serious, life-changing events happen that caused them to need to take some time to get their lives in order.
First and foremost, I am incredibly sorry that these fellows have to endure their hardships. Both are going through things right now for the first time that I’ve been through multiple times, and it can be incredibly sad and eye-opening. I wish nothing but the best for them and hope that all is well.
What I’ve had to do is reorganize the league, and start over. I have found a couple of coaches that want to jump in, and we have 5 total teams ready to play.

I’ve also been able to pick up a new team, as Goblins were never the team I’d wanted to play. I was just playing them out of convenience. I had picked up the models in a big miniature trade I did a while back, sending a LOT of 40k orks out and getting TOO MANY orcs and goblins for AoS/Fantasy in return. Part of that swap included a blood bowl team. I had them, I wanted to start playing again, so that was the choice.
Now I’ve been able to get an Imperial Nobility and Old World Alliance team (OWA), and this allows me to either play a team I LOVE, or explore a team that looks very difficult to learn but seems to have high potential.

I’ve opted for the difficult team (Because I’m kind of an idiot sometimes), and have committed to OWA. I’ll likely do a few articles on the team as I explore potential builds for them through league play. I’ve also committed to doing the GW Open event in Tampa again this year, and plan on taking either Imperial Nobility OR OWA, and this league will be the play-test for it.
I don’t intend on winning at the GW event, but I would love it if I was just able to play spoiler, plus the TO for Blood Bowl is an amazing human that has worked hard to cultivate a both fun and competitive atmosphere for these events, and I love that I’ve been able to work with him in my past year and a half with GW. Here’s to you, James!
